Sunsethills Crimson Aurora was born on the 4th of December 2003, the result of a mating between a poodle and a cocker spaniel crossed with a labrador (or so they said). Of course puppyhood is just an inconvenience to a puppy farm and she was mated at 7 months old by Melinda Radus to a poodle and had her first litter at only 9 months old on the 25th of September 2004  at Sunset Hills Puppy Farm. She shed hair so in order to carry on the pretence of breeding “hypoallergenic ” dogs she was bred constantly from then on to poodles or dogs that were well over 80% poodle according to our researchers..

51/2 months later on the 2nd of March 2005 poor Rorie had another litter to a poodle. Her little body couldn’t cope and she had an emergency c-section almost a week early  We have a picture of her looking thin and miserable and shaved to the skin. She has some tiny puppies that Sunset Hills fought hard for as they had big money waiting for them and export deals.

You would think this 15 month old puppy had now done enough for her owner but sadly that was not all.

5 months later again  on the 11th of August 2005, Rorie had her 3rd litter after another difficult labour. The fact that she had only recently had a caesarean was not enough to give her a rest from producing puppies for sale. Rorie wasn’t fit to have a picture taken and photoshopped to the desired gold/red colour and anyway she wasn’t important, only the puppies mattered. as some were kept for breeding and sold for a minimum 25, 000 AUD as breeding stock. All this from a puppy bitch who had no real pedigree, just another mongrel. Rorie’s bitch puppies Elly, Abi, and Crimson were kept on to produce more puppies in America and Australia for Sunset Hills. 

Only 5 months after her last litter at the beginning of January 2006 Rorie was exported to America. She was 7 weeks in whelp and had her puppies at Alpenridge, Sunsethills’ American branch on the 23rd of January. This branch was first set up with Melinda’s mother Sue Broady described on the website: Sue is a wonderful and caring person who has been involved in animal breeding programs for over 30 years now.   She has a great love for animals and a talent for developing breeding programs.

By the time Rorie was sent heavy with pup for the long and uncomfortable trip to her new “home” at Alpenridge there had been some changes, Sue Broady is now called Crystalyn Widic  but with an identical description:  Christalyn is a wonderful and caring person who has been involved in animal breeding programs for over 30 years now.   She has a great love for animals and a talent for developing breeding programs.

This is Sunset Hills new Breeding Center located in the USA.  Our Center is operated by Christalyn Widic recently relocated from Crooked River Ranch, Oregon to Elko, Nevada, the home of the anual National Cowboy Poetry Contest!

Sunset Hills is like most puppy farms, nothing is quite what it seems, names are changed at will and we are all expected to believe everything we are told. These farms trade on the gullibility of the public who after all only want a puppy to love.

I don’t know whether life was better or worse for little Rorie in America, but I do know that she was still not allowed to just be a young dog given freedom to have fun and love with a family.

5 months later on the 2nd of July 2006 after finally having some health testing done, Rorie had her 5th litter in America at Sunset Hills new breeding centre Alpenridge. After that we do not know what happened to her. I hope she was finally retired as they claim and allowed to have a life, not just litter after litter of puppies until her poor body could take no more. Rorie, a cheap little cross breed puppy, earned hundreds of thousands for her owners, she deserved a wonderful life after being sentenced to Hard Labour every 5 months. Rorie’s life was not exceptional at Sunset Hills, it was typical for any bitch unlucky enough to remain in the kennels.

I believe that loyalty is a virtue  we should all respect, but there comes a time when we need to look carefully at what demands our loyalty and judge if it is worthy of it. In this case Sunset Hills has clearly got a number of loyal friends but it is time they took stock. I know many already have.

Here is the list of some of the dogs, some with pictures, that were owned by Melinda Radus when she sold out to Nichii Gakkan, we know there are many more hidden away. We have compiled a list of 136 dogs , over 3/4 are bitches enabling something like  a hundred litters to be born every year at Sunset Hills or more likely more..

Here they are and if anyone can update us on the fate of the dogs please get in touch, we hope for the best for them ALL, the labradoodles, the poodles , the cocker spaniels and the many unknown mixed breed dogs now owned by Nichii Gakkan.

Does ANYONE doubt that Sunset Hills WAS and IS a puppy farm? There are still the same old tired lies that puppies are born in the home and socialized , is anyone fooled? Do the sums yourself, 5 litters born between 16th April 2011 to 2nd of May, that would mean a minimum of 15 litters in the “home” at one time. A sad and silly lie.

I couldn’t fit more than 2 litters in my dog friendly home , it’s just impossible of course, but puppy farms have to say this in order that the public believes they are not handing their money over to  dog abusers and dog pimps.

Can YOU tell us where these 136  dogs are? Please look carefully, maybe some of them are safe, desexed, and in a good home. We certainly hope so, but how could they make money for the owners if they are?

All round the world there is an assumption that the Brits love dogs, and according to Napoleon they are a nation of shop keepers as well. Pet Shops and Puppy Farms are encouraged and work well together to supply poorly bred, badly reared, puppies to the dog loving UK consumer with no thought for their parents left literally in the dark in Welsh sheds.

Pictures and videos of the Welsh puppy farms can be found on You Tube, but none of the breeders identified by the (easily googled) Y Byd Ar Bedwar puppy farming documentaries  were prosecuted for cruelty despite the colossal amount of evidence. There is simply no wish to prevent the trade in miserable puppies in Wales.

Most of the breeders operate outside the law for years and when they come to public attention a breeding licence is sent overnight to them without investigation according to the anti puppy farming leagues in the UK.

Dylan Jones is one of the Welsh puppy farmers who was recently obliged to apply for planning permission. A concerned neighbour sent us a copy of the retrospective planning application, its frankly breath taking!.For a start “retrospective” means the farmer has been breeeding outside the law and the council choses to make him legal rather than remove the dogs to safety and prosecute him  as is their duty .

Instead of the original 9 breeding dogs in 1994 there were in fact 196 on his farm, solely “cared for” by himself who runs a farm and his wife who works for the council. 2 part time workers 196 dogs don’t add up at all. Some photos were taken in support of the planning application and people understandably made the mistake of thinking that the pictures were of agricultural buildings not dog kennels. Have a look!  Do these look like a well run dog kennels  with heated runs and some form of enrichment to make lives less boring or does it look like a dirty cold dark grim shed for storing equipment .

I’ve read the whole planning application which is being pushed at the council as good for local business  and nowhere is there any thought of the lives the victims will lead, stuck in these narrow kennels with litter after litter of puppies for their short over productive lives.

The ultimate insult to our companion animals is to be found at the bottom of this picture of the kennels. Does anyone think these 196 dogs will be well cared for by Dylan Jones? Or that they will be HAPPY?

I’ll give her this , Melinda is making a strong case for selling out to the Japanese giant but the case made is purely business.

So what’s the plan? Nichii has over 600 medical facilities and they intend to have multiple therapy/assistance/companion dogs resident in each facility. They intend to track, monitor and record the success of their program and publish medical papers on a large scale to the government and medical communities to the benefits the Australian Labradoodle dogs have on the aged and ailing.

There is no voice for the dogs but then there never was. Just how”productive” can a dog be?  The most fortunate can be sold as adored pets, some can be trained to be companions for the elderly (until of course they are too old themselves), and of course they can be passed on  on to the subsidiary Pet Shop chain or even disappear forever as research animals.

The truth is we don’t know what will happen to the dogs and all their puppies sold to this uncertain future, but they will have to make money for Nichii Gakkan or the shareholders will want to know why. Don’t believe the hype about “sharing a vision”, this is ALL about PROFIT.

Some of the Valley View puppies came from pedigreed parents  had pedigrees but most didn’t.  The best I got in those days when I took the rescue puppies was a hand written scribbled pedigree of the sire which was usually Von Silverbertal Plutarch (Standard silver Poodle) and the  lab mother, and I’d have to write up the pedigree for any puppies by combining the two.  But mostly there was no pedigree.  Incidentally I forgot to mention that when I rescued all those puppies Fred and Helen made me pay five hundred dollars each for them.  Amazing.

You know what?  I think that the people who most slander others are usually the ones who are the least reputable themselves.

There is a bit of a story about Taranella.  It has nothing at all to do with Valley View.  There was a couple who lived near Colac in country  Victoria, who were breeding lab to poodle in the early nineties.  The husband ran a knackery and they lived on the premises (I didn’t know that at first but that’s another story).  I first met them when they started bringing some of their small females to be mated to Rutlands Heart Throb (Huggie) and later on  I contracted them to be a guardian home for me.  Some of the dogs they had were my Lil Ruby, Lil Mollie and Brown Shadow plus a couple of others whose names I can’t think of at the minute.

Then one day my husband and I visited their property while we were in the district with a horse we had racing at Colac.  Less said about the property and the conditions the dogs were in the better, but I ended up taking all my dogs back home shortly after plus a couple that they had bred.  Some died from corona virus which I’d never heard of before that and never want to hear of again!  It was a nightmare I prefer to forget.   It was not a friendly parting of the ways and I paid them about fifty thousand dollars  to sign a document stating that they would not breed Labradoodles for a certain period of years, I can’t remember how long it was but for some legal reason it wasn’t allowed to be ‘never’.

I have heard the tweaked version of the Valley View girls that you’ve been told too. Fred has boasted for years that he “supplied Rutland Manor with breeding stock and started them off”  I bought a lot of puppies from Valley View to save their lives.  Any time Fred and Helen couldn’t sell their black ‘smoothies’ as they called their lab coated first crosses at that time,  they’d call me and tell me they would be ‘donged on the head’ by nightfall if I didn’t take them.  Of course I’d drive up to their place, only about an hour away, and pick up the puppies, some of them four and five month old black labby males and never desexed, and I’d take them back home, have them desexed and then sell them without pedigrees and most of the time not cover my costs.

One notable time was when they called me to let me know that there were two litters of all black puppies, fourteen in all, who were in an old shed and ate rat bait.  They were about six and seven weeks old and were bleeding through their urine and poop, were dehydrated  and were very sick.  They too were going to be ‘donged’ as Fred and Helen said they were not worth spending money at the vet.  I took those fourteen puppies home and to the vet (********** in Warragul….he would remember this incident very well!)  and over the next three weeks me and my staff nursed them day and night and saved every single one.  From memory, that was the time that I also had black puppies of my own, and some pedigrees got mixed up and a black male, Rutlands Midnight Shadow, went to his owner with one of the Valley View pedigrees in his envelope instead of his own.

I bought from memory, four Cream adult females and a Black adult female on behalf of xxxxxx who was working for me at the time, and she re-sold them to Angela to make a profit on them. The Black female was later called “Big Eb” by Angela.

We have information about these sick dogs that Beverley Manners claims to have “rescued” from Colac and Valley View. They became pure Pedigree Australian Labradoodles of Rutland Manor and had new shiny Rutland’s pedigrees created out of thin air. Colac Farm were not a “Guardian home” at all, but just a puppy farm where Beverley went to buy sick dogs they wanted rid of, to fill her own kennels. She bought all their stock in 2003 to get rid of a competitor. Beverley Manners called her new victims Rutlands Lil Mollie, Rutlands Lil Ruby, Rutands Lil Minty, Rutlands Lil Tammy, Rutlands Lil Misty and Rutlands Lil Penny. The new breeding dogs brought the deadly coronavirus with them and in a few weeks, 60 poor little puppies died needlessly because of Beverley’s eye for a bargain, overstocked kennels, and refusal to pay for proper veterinary treatment. Attached are the original birth records from Rutland Manor Files .Their puppies were sold for thousands by this Monster of a Puppy Farmer and some of them even went as prime breeding stock for tens of thousands to the USA, an act of  FRAUD.

Lil Misty, born and bred at Colac, was sold to America as the finest Australian Labradoodle breeding bitch, with a full Rutland Manor pedigree.

Beverley has told us about her business dealings, her faking of their pedigrees and buying and selling whole litters from them  but we have more information to share.

Valley View, founded in 1997, provided Rutland Manor and Tegan Park with foundation stock. Gypsy, Hippy, Omah, Meeka and Jolene were all from Valley View and given Rutlands pedigrees.

THREE WEEKS AGO Valley View gave away dozens of labradoodles because they had been caught with too many illegal dogs on the premises. Did Bev go to the Fire Sale? Its the same old depressing kennels full to bursting with unnamed puppies from several litters all mixed up together.  Is your future RM puppy among them? Or his mother? PROBABLY

Colac Farm, Rutland Manor, Valley View, Tegan Park,  all operate in the same way, by breeding very, very cheaply and selling as expensively as possible to internet buyers They are all brutal to their dogs. Shooting dead any that are inconvenient like poor Ellie,  or just “donged”on the head as Beverley writes of her business partners at Valley View.

So why did Beverley Manners admit to all this FRAUD? She was rattled at the question about Trading Post Tara and tried to explain away her actions.

We think she just proved how big a FRAUD she is.

Matted, distressed, and in pain,  she was seen by a visitor to Rutland Manor who got the vet out to her. A temporary worker then drove her to the clinic to be anesthetized to have ingrowing grass seeds in her ears and vulva  removed. Beverley Manners knew how sick this dog was, but all she cared about was whatever money she could get from Happy.

Farms of Shame have told you of the sad, sad fate of the Factory workers Billie Jo and Bobbi Jo on Deathrow at Banksia Park Puppies, and Rutland Manor Exposed has told you of the shooting to death of Rutlands Aleicia (a poodle called Ellie) which Angela has told us was done by her husband Derek Cunningham.

But Rutland Manor is a Puppy Factory with a twist.

No other Puppy Farmer sells the produce for 22K AUD for a worker and a mere 3K AUD  for a neutered puppy.

No other Puppy Farmer claims to have founded a breed and worked tirelessly to perfect it for 26 years.

No other Puppy Farmer is such a BIG FAT LIAR. but every liar makes a mistake. Originally RM and TP claimed to have taken up breeding labradoodles where Wally Cochran had left off after breeding a Guide Dog labradoodle litter in the 70′s. 26 years looks possible doesn’t it?

Unfortunately they got 2 things wrong, the Guide Dog breeder was called Wally Conron and he published an article in the  Readers Digest stating that he had first bred his labradoodle litter in 1989. 26 years is no longer possible, is it?

Beverley is quick on her feet and the story was changed swiftly  to Rutland Manor being founded in 1989, now the earliest possible date.

Of course it isn’t possible to have the Guide Dog founder of the Labradoodle stating that his first litter was for sale in 1989 and Rutland Manor stating that they started with 2nd generation stock in the same year.

Who do you believe, the Guide Dog breeder or the Puppy Farmer?

Sift through the statement above and  somethings are true, Rutland Manor did start with 2 bitches bought from another puppy farm in Victoria, mated them to a standard poodle to produce their first RM litters  in 1997. At the same time Tegan Park bought another three bitches and went quickly into production. These  bitches were given a variety of interchangeable names, Anastasia, Dynasty amongst others. They are all closely related. Dates of birth were fabricated and pedigrees created with other breeders’ poodles renamed as labradoodles, for example Neiger Bluebelle renamed Tegan Park Bluebelle.

Beverley again slipped up. Farms of Shame have just received 2 documents from Beverley’s own store, we have checked them out, they are genuine!

Dynasty appears on her own “pedigree” with a date of birth of 11th of July 1997 On another “pedigree” Rutlands Dynasty is the mother of a puppy, the so-called Tegan Park Heirloom born the 2nd of August 1997 when her dam was only 3 weeks old.

In 1997 Beverley desperately needed an income and an interest after recurring serious mental health problems. Her mental state is very fragile and dependent on day to day medication. She sleeps very little and spends day and night at her computer tweaking her database. She does not visit or know her dogs. The wealth that followed her fraud fed her sick vanity and encouraged her to increase the real 13 years to an impossible 20 years, and now to the current ludicrous 26 years

Rutland Manor continues to buy in breeding labradoodles and poodles and create inventive pedigrees for them.

If you have an Rutland Manor or Tegan Park pedigree, do something useful with it, light your barbecue.

Give -away! If I send them 100 dollars can I rescue one? Apparently these pathetic  little runts are 6000 dollars heavily pregnant and desperate for a new home or little Candi 9000 dollars as she breeds well. Poor little mites with their pleading  eyes. They aren’t registered in Australia, does anyone even know if they are registered anywhere? “Pedigree” dogs sold without a proper kennel name, who would be fool enough to buy one?

Only another puppy farm buys breeding dogs like this.

Farms of Shame supports Oscar’s Law http://www.oscarslaw.org/ but it was Angela who owned Oscar (called Mr Taters) originally and allowed him to be so abused and neglected, hidden away from the authorities at another puppy farm. Interestingly Oscar was thought to be some kind of poodle cross, not a pure bred poodle, by the experts that saw him. So forgive me if I don’t believe the claim in the article that the Woolleys had paid $100,000 for imported prime breeding stock anymore than I believe in the give-away macaws and poodles. Tell it to the birds Angela!

It looks like Angela is about to reinvent her puppy farm under another name, we’ve had Tegan and Acacia Parks Exotic Toy poodles and the designer dog factory”Puppy Love” that she was going to set up with her mother Beverley Manners. Puppy Love threw away any pretence of reputable breeding – any oodle cross you could imagine shipped out.

I desperately hope at long last people will come to know that the painfully Vicious tales and rumours spread across the world about me and Tegan mostly through the horrific Divorce and other horrid situations, will at LONG LAST be seen for what they are and to those innocently and those who knowingly nurtured those rumours and Tales because after all If my own Mother said I was a wicked despicable person it MUST be true!!!!! Yes I have made mistakes and errors of judgment including trusting family over and over again,
Kate and the Y Girls I do not know who you are but do not feel bad about being manipulated and seeing only what you were directed to see, I did it for years ended up in a sobbing wrecked mess over and over again.
Please do not misunderstand me I LOVE my mother always have always will but I have no more respect for her and I am ashamed but more than that a piece of me dies a slow painful death as people out there point their accusing finger at me.

I and ONLY I created this Breed, I NEVER bred for color, I never bred for money I NEVER NEVER had a day go by that I did not know the intimate details of every dogs day providing I was physically able to be with them. Many people said I was slow and uncaring to not respond to emails within a few hours but I did not worry about that sort of thing because I was WITH my beloved dogs, I had wonderful help from true dog loving girls but I picked up as much poop as they did and groomed and played and loved them. The ONLY Time my dogs suffered lack of care was when my ex husband and Girlfriend and my mother took on a hostile business take over while I was trapped in a Domestic Violence shelter. Still today there are babies I have no clue where they are or who has them.
Again it has been a LONG time to finally see some truth appearing. Lets hope the whole truth comes to light so that I can cast off someone else’s tar.

I still hold these dogs close to my heart and would love to see my dreams for this breed to become fulfilled There is so much help and support I would love to share again.

that Angela has taken my own name amongst her several aliases. After the death of my husband I reverted to my maiden name of Rutland-Manners. Angela at no time was known by Rutland-Manners until recently when she chose to add it to her list of aliases. My father would turn in his grave if he knew how our family name is being dirtied.

I took out a two hundred thousand dollar loan to help Angela to buy the Florida property and she was to repay me when she sold her properties in Australia. I also lost my own home and property from other loans I took out to catch up with her mortgage payments and continue paying them to rescue her properties from being seized by the ANZ bank in Warragul Victoria Australia.

Not only did she not pay me a cent when she sold all three of her Australian properties and the Florida property, but she disappeared without a word and ran out on all of her commitments to me, her mother. She and her new boyfriend have purchased two properties with acreage and I only recently found out where she is through a mutual acquaintance.

There could be more. YES THERE ARE THE ONES USED WHEN I WAS A CHILD. BOUNCING ONE STEP AHEAD OF GOODNESS KNOWS WHAT ALL I KNEW IS I SLEPT IN A LOT OF DIFFERENT BEDS AND LOST COUNT OF SCHOOLS AT NUMBER 10.

The NASTY photos of my gorgeous imported Poodles were taken when a nasty person asked to come see the dogs she was welcomed but warned that the whole house purchased a month or two earlier was in a complete state of strip down renovations as it was barely habitable. we made temporary play pens outside under a lovely huge old shady tree [it was a very hot summer and the house was unbearable during the day] It was dangerous to have the tiny dogs running free so close to a road with no protective fencing so 4 of the dogs spent the day in the bedroom in a wheelie crate away from plaster dust with a cooler fan while the others took turns in the play pens.

Truth Prevails Slowly but surely the truth is coming to light, What my mother has done, what I have been blamed for.
A Mother is a Person a Husband is a Person and glory seekers are persons and most persons have a lot to answere for as the $$$ clinked in thier heads.

I am NOT my mother and I have NOT done or approved or sometimes even known what she is has or will do we have similar DNA why does that automatically make me guilty of HER and Derek’s actions???

I know that your schools have a great day out at Banksia Park Puppies every year and receive financial support from them as is evidenced by the testimonials on the Banksia Puppy Farm site. I’m sure that these visits are undertaken with nothing but the best intentions, assuming that what you see on the visit is the actual way the Puppy Farm is run. Sadly nothing could be further from the truth, your visit is carefully stage managed.

The most important information that any School should consider before visiting any business is whether it is run in a legal and ethical way. I am well in the position to tell you that Banksia is run against the law in several important ways and that the mothers and fathers of the puppies the children see are kept in dreadful conditions and killed as soon as they can make no more money for the Hams.

1 Bitches are bred on every season against the law which states

Section 3.2 Bitches must be at least 12 months of age before being mated and a bitch must not have more than two litters in any 18 month period.

This law, designed to protect breeding bitches from abusive breeding practices, is flouted by this Puppy Farm – as can be seen in the record higlighted below of bitches bred 3 times in the 18 month period from 6th January 2003 to July 6th 2004. 78 bitches owned by ACA/Banksia Park Puppies had 78 illegal 3rd litters and one bitch had 4 litters in that 18 month period, as is witnessed in the record below. Banksia Park Puppies continues to break the law today as do all Puppy Farms.

2 Dogs and Bitches are kept on chains and behind electrified fences which your schools do not see.

3 The picture of good care that you see is not generally found on the puppy farm; bitches from well under the legal age are mated routinely to dogs that are far too big, and then whelp on their own with no veterinary care. Death is frequent and inevitable for all the dogs once they are too sick and exhausted from the abusive and illegal breeding practices to produce any more puppies. The veterinary record shows 24 breeding dogs put down in a few days before Christmas 2007 at a cost to the Puppy Farm of $280.

4 There is also the fact that puppies are sold to the public who are not made aware that they had to have operations performed in order to sell them. This is unethical and if found by the family vet would invalidate any insurance

In the light of these obvious acts against the law, and contrary to good caring practice in the breeding of companion animals, I respectfully put it to you that your Schools should not support Banksia Park Puppy Farm by your visits and testimonials and acceptance of financial inducements.
